Hussam is a Bioinformatician at the research and development team at Genomedx Biosciences Inc. ; A Vancouver based company working on urological cancer genomics. He is working on the design and implementation of statistical / predictive models to develop decision support systems to improve patients Healthcare and provide personalized molecular insights on the tumor of each patient. At Genomedx, he was able to develop several machine learning models using H2O and other tools to predict different clinical variables. These models will be translated to clinical setting to advance the field of personalized medicine and patients healthcare.
Before that Hussam was doing research at Duke University and The University of British Columbia on improving Ultrasound image utilization for health care systems. At Duke, he was member of team that utilized signal processing algorithms to improve Ultrasound blood flow contrast. While at The University of British Columbia, Hussam combined different imaging techniques to improve the detection of prostate cancer.
